The Ideas Factory is the South West of England’s applied art and crafts community. We aim to provide opportunities, resources and advice for local and regional applied artists and craftmakers, and provide a platform upon which we can all build our creative businesses and market our art successfully.

What We Do:

The Ideas Factory organise talks and workshops. To date we have successfully organised workshops on ‘how to photograph your work’ and short hot glass techniques, and have organised free talks for artists covering intellectual copyright and also how to present your work professionally when approaching galleries and buyers.

The Ideas Factory support artists online, for example in our Featured Artist section. Eventually as the website grows we aim to have a strong support network online and to use our website as a showcase for the amazing local talents in the area.

The Ideas Factory hopes to grow with your requests and requirements and to answer your needs. Please let us know what you would like to see more of and we shall do our best to respond appropriately.

Who We Are:

The Ideas Factory is run by a small group, mainly based in the Art & Design department at Bournemouth & Poole College and within the public art gallery adjoining, KUBE (Formerly The Study Gallery).
